GIRL'S TRIP TO VEGAS

(After our MAC Makeover)

On Sunday, July 20, I took a late night flight with Kelly and my mom-n-law, Lynette to Vegas. We had a nice room at the Monte Carlo. This was considered our 1st annual girl's trip to Vegas and we have vowed to make it a tradition every year. The 1st day we ate breakfast/lunch at the Grand Lux in the Venetian it was really yummy, even if Lynette ordered oatmeal and coke. We spent a good part of Monday at the Mall on the strip. We all got a makeover at the MAC counter and I now am in love with thier product, especially the gel liner. So, $85.00 later we were off to Planet Hollywood for dinner. We had dinner at a favorite Italian Restaurant inside Planet Hollywood. Then we were off for a shopping spree and the new H & M. I bought Abbey a few outfits for fall. This is one of my favorite places to shop for kids clothes, very inexpensive, but also very cute stuff!! After shopping we hit a movie in the same complex. We went and saw "Mama Mia". It was a great movie, but I just don't think Pierce Bronson is the singing type.

(From the Parking Lot of Cesar's- Jeff & I saw this show in Oct 06)

We slept in on Tuesday and headed off to Cesar's for breakfast/lunch at Cheesecake Factory. After we were finished we stopped in at FAO Schwartz for a little shopping. Lynette bought the girls (Abbey & Sierra) some really cute stuff for thier birthdays and had it shipped home. Kelly also bought Abbey a really neat present for her birthday. I also picked up a couple things for her birthday party. After looking around Cesar's we headed off to the Outlets. I found several finds at the Outlets, new swim suit and Quicksilver shirts for Jeff and several other great finds.

After shopping we headed to In & Out for dinner. We ran into John Stockton and Kelly even talked to him while she was getting her drink!

After dinner we stopped by Cheesecake Factory and got some dessert take-out and headed back to our hotel. We were all tired so we rented a movie and painted our fingernails. We also headed downstairs for a late night Coke. The rest of our night I was sworn to secrecy---- As the saying goes, What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.

Guess Which hands and toes are mine?

On Wednesday, we slept in and the headed back to the Grand Lux for Breakfast. We then headed back to Fashion Place Mall on the strip for a few last minute items. I also got a new brush set for my new MAC make-up and I also picked up the cutest outfit for Abbey (for her 3 year old pics) at a Janie & Jack Store. Afther the mall we gased up, returned the car and headed back to the airport. Abbey was so glad when I got home she just kept hugging me and saying "Mommy, I need you" and when it all comes down to it I missed her ALOT! Thanks Lynette and Kelly for the awesome time and all the good laughs!!! I can't wait until we go next year!

BOONDOCK'S

On July 20, Jeff & I took Abbey to Boondock's for the afternoon. She played several video games, played in the "Kiddie Cove", played her first round of miniture golf and her & Jeff ended the afternoon riding in the bumper boats. We had a great time and Abbey can't wait to go back to "Boondogs" as she calls it.

7 Peaks

Amy Price invited us to her summer work party at 7 Peaks. We met up with her, Maddison & Tyler on Thursday evening. We spent alot of the evening going down the "Big Purple Slide" and playing in the small kiddie slide area. Abbey & Maddi also spent alot of time playing together in the wave pool. After a long night the girls settled on the steps and shared some dippin dots. It was good to see Tyler and catch up with him. He also told me that he was getting ready to put his mission papers in! Thanks for inviting us we had a great time!!

My birthday

My birthday (to those of you that forgot =) was this past Tuesday. My mom n law and sis n law took me to Gateway to eat lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. After we ate we walked around a bit and ended up at Z Gallerie (I love that store). After lunch we headed to Draper for a Paraffin Pedicure (which I highly recommend). We all picked out a pretty outrageous color (I got navy blue, Lynette picked bright yellow and Kelly picked bright green) for our upcoming Vegas trip (we leave on Sunday the 20th).

After our pedicures I picked up Abbey and we headed to Harmon's to pick up a birthday cake. I let her pick out a small cake and she ended up picking "Hello Kitty". The employee at the bakery thought it was Abbey's birthday, but I then informed her it was my birthday and she laughed and wrote "Happy Birthday Mommy & Abbey" on the cake. My parents and my brother met up with us at Los Hermanos in Lindon for dinner and after we headed to our house for cake and ice cream. I ended the day with several phone calls and some great birthday cards and gifts. Jeff even got me a card and roses this year!! Thanks everyone for a great day!

Before it got dark I also mowed the lawn in preparation for my Home Decor party that I had on Wednesday. The party turned out really good and I ended up buying some really neat decor for my dining room and kitchen. I just recently converted my living room (aka home teachers room) into a formal dining room. Jeff installed wood flooring in the dining room and hallway. We painted two walls chocolate brown, hung drapes. I also have been changing my kitchen around. I painted my red wall to match the chocolate brown in my dining room and we also put up rods and hung curtains. I took down and sold all my apple decor and I now a have a more contemporary look above my kitchen cabinets. In the fall we hope to put up a tile backsplash (to match the tile floors), install an island and also put in new countertops. We also want to replace out appliances and put in stainless steel. I will attach some pictures when it is all done. =)

Lagoon

This past saturday, Corrie invited us and got us all tickets to Lagoon. She had her annual work party and we met up with her about 4:3o p.m. When we got there, Spring was not feeling good so Jeremy took her home and met back up with us later that night. Summer was so cute with Abbey, she helped her on every ride and they laughed on every ride they went on together. Abbey even braved the Tidal Wave this time. I'm pretty sure it was a little much for her, but when we got off, she said, "that boat was really fun mom". My dad, "grandpa dee" came with us and he had a really good time going on the rides with Abbey. She was so excited that her grandpa went to "Cancun" with her. For some odd reason, she calls Lagoon, "Cancun". We stayed till it closed at 11 p.m. and Abbey was head bobbing and asleep before we got to the freeway. Thanks Corrie, we had a GREAT time.

Scooters & Slip N Slide

I found a great "my first scooter" awhile back on sale at Target so I picked it up for Abbey for her birthday and last week she saw it when I opened my trunk to get her other car seat out. I hurried and shut it, but she was to quick and saw it. I tried to side track her onto something else, but she came back 20 minutes later and said to me, "I need my pink scooter mom". So after listening to her go on and on about her scooter we decided to give it to her. So for the rest of the evening she and Hinckly rode up and down the sidewalk.

After they played on the scooters, Lexi brought the slip n slide over and we set it up in the backyard.

Summer Semester at Little Gym

Abbey has really enjoyed her summer session of Little Gym. Each week they introduce a new theme and the class is centered around the theme. 1) Cowboys 2) Sea Life 3) Magic 4) Princes & Princesses 5) Pirates & 6) Time Travel. Each week they make a craft centered around the theme and Abbey has also learned many new gymnastics tricks and new songs. She has also made some really good friends, Bella, Avery, Cameron, Connor,
Brynley, to name a few of her favorites. She has also learned how to paint and loves to put on an old t-shirt of mine and paint her little heart away.

Pool Party at the Christensen's

Jeff, Abbey & I met Leslee and her fiance', Jared for a swim party at Sharla's house. Abbey even went down the slide a couple of times. She mostly enjoyed playing in the water and hanging out with Hunter. After swimming we all ate pizza and Abbey was pretty tired by the end of the night. Before we left Sharla took Abbey on scooter
ride, and after they were done she said, "more scooter please".

4Th of July

Abbey spent the night with her cousins at Grandma Net's hosue on the 3rd so they could get up early for the parade on the 4th in Sandy. She spent the day with the kids and they had a great time playing! Abbey was really excited to tell me about the parade and all the candy she got.

Later in the evening after Jeff & I finished laying rocks and painting the kitchen, everyone came over for dinner and fireworks. Jeff and the neighbor's (Baker's & Reay's) played pool in the garage and we were able to see the fireworks coming from Thanksgiving Point before we went to bed!
