April Showers & Snow

Abbey is not really understanding that it has to be warm to be outside. One day its nice so we spend the day outside and the next day we have a snowstorm. Regardless of the weather she would rather be outside playing.

We got her a new Dora big wheel and we also broke down and bought her a giant wood swing set with a playhouse. Jeff has been working on putting it together for the past 10 days. It should be done within the next few days!! We had to dig out 16 x 27 feet of our sod (which we gave to our neighbor's Dean & Lily, we figured it was the only way to help them attempt to do anything with thier yard). Abbey is quite the social butterfly of the neighborhood. She has a few new found friends, Chance, Josh & McKenna which she spends every minute outside playing with them.

We got our new wood floors installed in our dining room, new moldings, painted 2 accent walls chocolate brown and put up crown molding. I went this past week with Kelly to buy some new drapes so that should pretty much finish up the project once we get them altered and hung. I will post some pictures soon.

We are still going to Little Gym every week and Abbey looks forward to it every time. She loves to be with all the kids her age and have an hour to play, jump & tumble every week. I have enrolled her in 'Terrific Tots' for the summer semester. This is a class which prepares her for preschool.

This past week we went swimming with Zach & Tiffany(neighbor's across the street) at the Lehi Pool. Abbey is a little water bug. She will go down all the slides by herself and loves to jump off the side of the pool.

Abbey spent Friday night at Grandma Eliason's. She loves going there to spend the night and get spoiled by her grandparents. On Saturday she went with them to McKinley's soccer game and she was screaming and cheering when McKinley made a goal!!!! We picked her up that night and we went bowling in Sandy with Uncle Ryan & Aunt Abby. Abbey bowls with me so needless to say we pull some pretty good scores with the metal rack and Abbey thinks she is 'The Bomb' when she bowls a strike.

To end this post my Uncle, Cliff Laycock, passed away yesterday evening from bone cancer. I will miss him alot. He was such a great guy and so good to me and my family. I am so grateful that my dad lives just 3 doors away from my aunt so she won't feel so alone. I have so many good memories of being around him. He was always smiling and joking with everyone he came in contact with. I know he is in a better place and not suffering anymore and hope his family will receive many blessings of comfort. In my house I have a shadow box that he made for me that I keep my violin in and every time I look at I will think of him.

I'm Back To Blogging

Due to popular demand and everyone commenting on how I only blogged 2 times I'm back and promise to start writing more regularly and as an added bonus I will add pictures to my post.

During the 1st week of March, Abbey got the dreaded stomach flu and it lasted for 9 days. So needless to say we did alot of laundry and I felt so bad for her. She would start to gag and I would hold her head and back while she threw up. By the way, she is the only person that I will do this for, anyone else that is sick and needs help is completely on their own.

Abbey started her "Super Beasts" class at Little Gym at the end of January and "loves" her teacher "Miss Janet". Jeff thinks this class is an entire waste of good money, but she loves to run around and do her little gymnastic tricks. She also has made some good friends in her class (her favorite is Ellie, she too is a blue eyed red head)!!!

On the 10th was Jeff''s Birthday. We went out for dinner and a Jazz/Nuggets game and my dad stayed at our house with Abbey. Abbey and I got him a cute guitar cake and we made him a "yummy" salmon dinner. Abbey loves to sing happy birthday and eat cake. Jeff even let her blow out the candles when she sang "happy birthday to Abbey".

We started going to the Lehi Pool again this month. This year Abbey is brave enough to go down all 3 slides on her own. Sometimes she will wear a life jacket, but most times she thinks she is to old for the jacket because she can go underwater now!! We took a mommy and me class in February at the Orem Rec and she still refused to float on her back.

On March 16th I went to Disney on Ice "Princess Wishes" with my friend Shauna and her 2 daughters, McKenzie and Amaya. Abbey wore her Snow White dress for awhile, but then had to take it off so she could sit in her chair and hold her own popcorn and drink. Amaya also sported her love of Cinderella and wore a "beautiful dress and crown". She looked so cute!!!

On the 22nd, we went to Discovery Museum at the Gateway and took Abbey to eat breakfast with Elmo. We had to get up way to early to do this and Jeff was not to impressed because they only had healthy breakfast food so he thought it was a waste of money. Abbey was in heaven when Elmo came out, she gave him a huge hug and a high 5. The Sesame Street exhibit of the "body" was really neat and Abbey really enjoyed it. As for Jeff, he took and early exit and headed for Starbucks!! We also went to South Town Mall and she got to visit the easter bunny for the 1st time. Later that night I had my parents over for dinner and an easter egg hunt with Abbey. My dad rang the doorbell and left her easter basket on the porch (since I had to work early on easter morning) and she ran all the way out to the sidewalk to see if she could see the easter bunny hopping away!

On Easter Sunday I worked and after we went to Jeff's parents for dinner, easter baskets and another egg hunt. After dinner McKinley, Sierra and Abbey rode the Jeep and Motorcycle in the front yard for awhile.

We got some new neighbors in February after the Bateman's moved out. Abbey will miss Courtney (her 1st babysitter) and Chloe, but in return gained a new friend Zachary. We got them to come to Little Gym with us and we have had a few playdates. The first few times we got the kids together they made each other cry quite a bit (they both have issues with toy sharing), but now things seem a little smoother as long as Abbey does not touch his 'cars.'

This sums up the month of March and I will post some pictures!!!!
