Abbey's New Cousins

Yates (L) and Mercedes (R)

On Wednesday December 3, my sister-n-law, Julie and my brother Patrick had their twin babies. Yates Patrick weighed in at 5 lbs 7 oz, 20" born at 4:18 a.m. and Mercedes Olivia weighed in at 5 lbs 3 oz, 19.5" born at 4:19 a.m. They were taken by c-section since Mercedes was coming breech. A few hours after the birth it was determined that Yates had developed pneumonia and was admitted into the NICU and yesterday his lung collapsed to make things worse. We are praying that he gets well soon so he can come home with his baby sister!!!
Congratulations Patrick, Julie and Ethan. We love you!!!

Playing Catch Up- Happy Halloween

On Halloween Abbey and I spent the day toghehter having a "girls day". However her girls day and my girls day are totally different so this led us to spending a couple hours playing at McDonald's and we also did a little shopping at Costco. We came home and got ready for the night and Abbey went trick or treating on our street to a few houses with the Taggart's. Later we ate dinner and headed to Kelly's for more fun and trick or treating. We left Abbey at Kelly's house and they finished trick or treating while we headed off to a Halloween Party at Leslee's house. To our surprise when we got there we had both dressed up the same (Grease). We had a great night eating, hanging out and playing poker!! Jeff tried cheating but was caught in the act!!! Shame on him =( Abbey came home with Grandpa Dave and was fast asleep on the couch.

Artistic Dance

The 1st picture is at our ward trunk or treat party with Brooke & Hinckley. The rest of the pictures are from the week of Halloween at Abbey's dance class with her teacher Miss Jamie. I love to go and watch Abbey at dance, she is always waving at me through the window and showing off for me!! I know she is still young but watching her try to skip is the funniest thing ever. I can just see her little mind trying to concentrate as she tries to do it!!

Halloween Party at Little Gym

The week before Halloween Abbey had her Halloween party at Little Gym. They had several fun activites for the kids to do (trick or treat bags, fishing, bowling, bean bag toss, slide, etc). All the instructors did a performance and Abbey thought this was so cool to see her teachers, "Miss Sarah" & "Miss Erin" dancing!!! After the party Abbey, Jeff and I went out for Mexican Food.

Barnyard Boo/ Thanksgiving Point

This past month Jacy & I also took the girls to Thanksgiving Point to the Barnyard Boo. We got to see the animals, decorate cookies, go on a carriage ride, play games & went on several pony rides. Both girls had a fun time and this is something I would recommend for parents with young kids!! We are definitely going back next year!!!!

Trick of Treat Street

Abbey giving Carson a kiss

Abbey was sure this was spongebob's Pirate

The girls got way to much candy

You gotta love those fake smiles and poor Carson in his spider costume. I'm pretty sure he hated it!!
Jacy & I took the girls to Trick or Treat Street and South Town Expo right before Halloween and it was really neat. Abbey even wanted me to paint a pumpkin on her face and you all know how artistic I am. Abbey just adores baby Carson and she is always talking and kissing on him. I think she need a sibling!!

I haven't blogged in awhile, but last month Jeff's aunt and uncle came into town to spend a few days with the family. This also forces my mother in law to clean and dust before they get here!! =) A trait which she passed on to her children!!!!
We always love hanging out with this half of the family, they are awesome and they are so good to us.

Scarecrow Festiva at Thanksgiving Point

Abbey & Sierra

Sieera chose the skeleton and Abbey chose a spider

They both had their faces painted like cats

Abbey holding very still while they painted her face
We spend a good majority of our time on the bouncing slides
On Friday October 17, Kelly and I took the girls to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Earlier that day we had lunch at Kelly's house with her parents and Mike & Maureen and it was very yummy. We spent the latter part of the afternoon and early evening with the girls here and we had a good time. After lunch instead of going with us, Jeff opted to go fishing at Deer Creek, go figure he always cops out of these fun times!!!

Family Walk at Willow Park

Abbey opted to ride her Dora bike

Checking out the river where Jeff has been canoeing

Taking a picture in the sun

Abbey rode her little bike the entire 2 miles

Posing with Jeff (Jeff wasn't too happy that I didn't capture the mountains as the background, hence the fence).... I tried, my picture taking skills are not that great.
On a warm October afternoon we drove out to the Jordan Park (Willow Park) and walked on the trail for a bit. Abbey had a great time and wanted to keep going!!!

Putting the cookies on the pan to bake

Watching them bake

Tasting the final product.

This past month Abbey and I did some fun little baking projects for Halloween. I let her help me make cupcakes and Halloween sugar cookies. We also spent a night making pumpkins to take to grandma and grandpa's house.
